Liftoff Employee Spotlight: Nihal Advani, Ad Operations Manager

By Nadia Alaee | July 9, 2019

Nihal joined Liftoff in October 2018 as our first Ad Operations Manager (AdOps) in Liftoff’s New York office. Nihal has been working in the mobile space for six years, with four of those years being focused on ad tech.  Since joining Liftoff, Nihal has streamlined our incrementality process, which is extremely popular in the ad tech space. Not only is a Nihal a wiz at mobile ads, but he is also a champion poker player who participated in the World Series of Poker in June!

What drew you to Liftoff originally?

The first thing that drew me in was the fact that Liftoff only received one round of funding. It’s very rare for startups and ad tech in particular. So, for Liftoff to only take a single round of funding and be profitable since is amazing. The second thing that drew me in was the attraction of joining a bigger company with a larger global impact.

What is your favorite part about working at Liftoff?

The people. The best part about being at a company that I take pride in is when I’m not the smartest person in the room, which happens often at Liftoff.

What have you learned since joining Liftoff?

You can work on different projects, that cater to your different strengths, that are not related to your designated job function.

Favorite event at Liftoff?

All Hands Week. It was the first time I met most of the company from all Liftoff offices around the globe. We work with a lot of international teams throughout the year, and during All Hands Week in December, I get the opportunity to meet all of them in person.

What is a fun fact about you that no one in the office would know about?

I was my high school’s mascot! I was the Forrest Hills High School Ranger my senior year. I had to wear this huge mask.

Use three words to describe yourself.

Hungry, sleepy, goofy.
