2019 Liftoff Recruiting Team Highlights

2019 was a big year for Liftoff, and the Recruiting Team had plenty to celebrate in relation to some of 2019’s exciting achievements. From expanding Liftoff’s presence globally, to reaching new heights in team growth, to hiring several first-of roles, we were certainly busy and managed to close out the year on a high note. 

Here are some of the highlights:

  • Liftoff expands to Korea and Brazil: We began 2019 by growing our APAC presence with our new office in Korea, and capped off the year with our expansion into Latin America with our first Brazil-based hire. Not only were these two new regions key to our global industry leadership, but they were also strong markets for attracting high-caliber talent. 
  • 200+ Liftoffers and counting: In 2019, we celebrated crossing the 200 employees count with treats across our offices. Supporting this goal, the Recruiting Team was instrumental in hiring 88 new Liftoffers globally; in partnership with the Onboarding, Facilities, and HR teams, we onboarded 78 of these new Liftoffers last year. These new additions included first-of-hires for Liftoff such as our Director of Sales Engineering, UX Designer, Global Payroll Supervisor, and a Sr. FP&A Manager. 
  • Community: Fostering strong communities, both internally and externally, continued to be an important tenet of our company and talent brand in 2019. From our partnership with the Silicon Valley Golang community, to hosting our first-ever engineering hackathon, to hosting our first of many Interviewers Appreciation Dinners, 2019 proved to be a successful year.
  • Industry recognition: As Liftoff’s business leadership and industry recognition grows, it’s important to us that we continue attracting and retaining the very best talent. To this end, ensuring Liftoff is one of the best workplaces in the nation remains a priority. In 2019, building on our previous wins, we were happy to be recognized by major publications such as Silicon Valley Business Journal and Inc Magazine for these efforts.

As big as 2019 was, we believe 2020 will be even bigger. By the time we celebrate our eighth birthday in August and march towards the end of 2020, there will have been more major milestones to celebrate.
