Liftoff Offsite

Why Company Offsites Matter

By Nathalie Figueroa | July 11, 2019

Offsites have been part of the Liftoff culture since the very beginning and these special events are encouraged by our founders to this day. As we grow, it remains top of mind for us to take time to celebrate our successes and hard work outside of the office.

The Long Branch Saloon & Farm near Half Moon Bay was the perfect escape to disconnect from our laptops and plug into our chili making skills for our HQ team offsite! A great wrap up to an even greater second quarter, we spent a fun-filled day eating, cooking chili, competing in a watermelon eating contest (our CEO, Mark Ellis and VP of People Ops, Marlene Arroyo both competed), practicing our slingshot skills and jumping in on an impromptu conga line.

Team bonding through company offsites are a priority for us at Liftoff. We believe it is extremely impactful to have teams interact with each other outside of work; after all, our coworkers are like our second family. We spend countless hours together in meetings, sending each other emails and pinging on Slack. So, we value quality time spent together beyond our work relationships, getting to know each other and enjoying extracurricular activities. We pride ourselves on being a great place to work where the wellbeing of our employees matters to us.
